Dona the orang-utan leaves for Chester

One of the zoo’s vehicles recently hit the road with a very important cargo. Dona, a female orang-utan faced a journey of 1,700 km to Chester, Great Britain. She was scheduled to reach her destination the following afternoon.
Mini marmoset marvels

Two pygmy marmosets have been born at the zoo. On 5 February, the male Sauro and female Galadriel became the proud parents of two beautiful babies. Be sure to see them roaming around the Lion Tamarin House.
Dona departs

On Monday 9 February 2009, Dona the orang-utan, probably the most favourite ape at Dvůr Králové Zoo, headed for Chester in the UK. The city’s zoo, one of the finest in Europe, is expanding its Asian ape collection.
Spot the new hyena

A young spotted hyena has recently made its home here. The 15-month-old female, Spot, came all the way from Rotterdam Zoo, the Netherlands.
